There are a few things to consider before an installation.

SUB FLOOR PREPARATION

Just like a house cannot be built on sand, a wood floor needs a good foundation. Sub floor preparation is the most important aspect to ensure a quality and lasting finish, prolonging the life of your new floor. Before any installation we will:

Carry out an inspection on the existing sub floor to ensure that it is sound and level
Check moisture and humidity readings and take action if required
Take accurate measurements

INSTALLATION METHOD

There 3 main installation methods for wood floors:

Glue down – adhering the wood floor directly to the sub floor
Secret nailed – nailing through the tongue of the board making the nails invisible once the floor is completed
Floated – laying the wood floor over a layer of underlay

Finish

Wood floors arrive either pre-finished or un-finished.

Pre-finished floors come already treated with your chosen finish
Un-finished floor come with no treatment and after installing, require treatment by our team on site. The finishing process is not rushed, and we go to great efforts toensure that the preferred result is achieved.
